ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Bentonville Fire Department battled a house fire on Tuesday afternoon at 2510 N.W. Turner Drive with assistance from Bella Vista, Centerton and Rogers—20 firefighters worked to keep the blaze from spreading as multiple people inside sustained minor injuries. Investigators are looking into the cause while authorities say the home may be a total loss and a nearby house had minor damage.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Al McCarty Jewelers in Rogers has won awards for eight years, including a Gold award for Best Jewelry Store in the 2024 contest — a nod to its century-old tradition of quality since it opened in 1915. The family-owned business began as a watch repair shop in Helena and moved to Rogers in 1979 — now it mainly offers jewelry repairs and custom mounts.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Rogers City Council amended the future land use map to guide smoother development transitions in the city—planned changes may speed up project approvals in the near future.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • Washington Regional Medical Center will add 26 new residency and fellowship slots after securing $4.5 million from the state legislature to expand its graduate medical education program and help address a regional shortage of physicians. The expansion will launch new programs in emergency medicine, neurology, general surgery & transitional year residency along with internal medicine fellowships that are expected to boost local economic activity.  Northwest Arkansas Council

SPORTS NEWS

  • Ozark United FC announced new plans for a mixed-use development on 36 acres at West Perry Road and South Bellview Road in the Pinnacle Hills area that will feature a modern stadium—along with shops, restaurants, and homes. The project is expected to be complete by the 2027 soccer season, though the club said it might finish in 2028.  5 News
