COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A new free bus route connects Crystal Bridges and downtown Bentonville, offering 21 stops along a six-mile loop that began on March 16 with service from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and helps visitors and workers travel easily around town.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • In 2025, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission reported that 17 people died in boating accidents — only one wore a life jacket — and urged local boaters to use safety measures.  4029 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • University of Arkansas art director Sam King will lead a free gallery talk on Don Lee's work at 6 pm on Thursday, April 2 at the Alexander Gallery (212 N. ECONOMY NEWS

  • New U.S. Census Bureau figures show the metro area added 14,744 residents between 2024 and 2025—about 40 per day—and ranked No. 9 for growth, increasing 41% since 2010. Regional leaders will use Growing Home NWA to boost housing, transportation, and utilities as demand grows.  Northwest Arkansas Council

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Arkansas Athletes Outreach in Rogers gives students in grades 1-6 access to a full-court gym with sports training, leagues, and summer camps. The program schedules camps from June 8-11+ July 6-9 and offers memberships from $25 monthly to $250 annually.  5 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • After Napoleon Solo scratched Friday, the Arkansas Derby today at Oaklawn Park will have eight starters competing for a Grade I win and Derby points. The 14-race card starts at 11:35 a.m. with the Derby leg set for 6:48 p.m. (the event offers a $1.5 million purse).  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The Razorbacks men's basketball team lost 109-88 to Arizona at SAP Center in San Jose on Thursday night, ending a record tying 28-9 season that marked one of the best campaigns in 31 years (despite a tough finish).  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Razorbacks freshman point guard Darius Acuff was named a finalist for the Naismith National Player of the Year Award Friday — he averaged 23.5 points and 6.4 assists per game this season and the winner will be announced on April 5.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
