Homes and businesses in Gravette were damaged by high winds and rain during a severe storm in Benton County — a tornado warning was issued though no tornado hit and crews are cleaning up while an old building and Insulbead warehouses lost roofs and doors.

Rogers Public Schools superintendent Jeff Perry said May 26, 2024 remains a key date that now guides the district's response to severe weather—staff and students are trained for emergencies, special education students receive extra support, mobile classrooms are used for safety, and a new safe room is being built at Greer Lingle Middle School.

The nearly 80-year-old steel water tower on Eighth and Persimmon streets was taken down over the weekend after the city sold it for $1,000 to DRA Properties who removed it at their own cost—city officials said water supplies remain stable while many residents expressed sadness at losing a local landmark.
