ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Homes and businesses in Gravette were damaged by high winds and rain during a severe storm in Benton County — a tornado warning was issued though no tornado hit and crews are cleaning up while an old building and Insulbead warehouses lost roofs and doors.  4029 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rogers Public Schools superintendent Jeff Perry said May 26, 2024 remains a key date that now guides the district's response to severe weather—staff and students are trained for emergencies, special education students receive extra support, mobile classrooms are used for safety, and a new safe room is being built at Greer Lingle Middle School.  4029 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The nearly 80-year-old steel water tower on Eighth and Persimmon streets was taken down over the weekend after the city sold it for $1,000 to DRA Properties who removed it at their own cost—city officials said water supplies remain stable while many residents expressed sadness at losing a local landmark.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Rogers Mounties swept Rogers Heritage in a doubleheader on Monday night and kept their lead in the 6A-West Conference. Jake Taylor pitched six shutout innings with two hits in Game 1 while Joseph Canzoneri struck out 13 in Game 2 as the team won 8-0 and 11-1.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
