- ➤ Lisa Thompson, executive editor of Northwest Arkansas Newspapers, announced her resignation Tuesday after 23 years with the company—her departure will take effect July 28 as she focuses on personal pursuits. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Northwest Arkansas Land Trust plans to protect 34 acres in Springtown that include Big Spring, the source of Flint Creek, and Camp Moonlight—a Civil War campsite where the 6th Kansas Regiment camped in 1863. The land was donated by the Walton Family Foundation in December 2024 and will be kept off-limits to the public. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Airport officials withdrew an offer made to Highfill as part of a detachment plan (which aimed to assist with bond payments) and rejected the city's reading of a March agreement. Court-ordered mediation and further negotiations will resume to address the issues over sales tax use. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Tickets and volunteer registration are now open for the LPGA Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in Rogers, with the event set to run from September 13th to September 21st at Pinnacle Country Club — the BITE Experience will take place from September 19th to September 21st — and the tournament is seeking 750 volunteers. 4029 News
