CRIME NEWS

  • A cyclist died Sunday after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of South Eighth and West Oak streets when he rode through a red light on June 7— the driver was not found at fault and no citations were issued.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Rogers residents who meet income guidelines can apply for leftover 2024 Community Development Block Grant funds to repair owner-occupied single-family homes, including fixes for tornado damage. The money will be awarded on a first come first served basis and more funds are expected next year—applications are available online or by phone.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The Rogers City Council approved a public hearing for proposed sewer rate increases and accepted grants at its Tuesday meeting— the hearing is set for July 22.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin announced a court ruling yesterday—removing the block on Act 629 that had allowed Delta-8 products to be sold—and said that the law will be enforced in about eight weeks, requiring businesses to take the items off shelves. The ruling clarifies the law—addressing concerns over youth-targeted packaging—and follows a federal judge's pause on the ban amid lawsuits.  5 News
