  • On Saturday, families at the Rogers Farmers Market enjoyed the second annual Back-to-School Bash—featuring games, inflatables, and a backpack drive that supported local students before school started. Market Manager Grant Wise said donations helped at least half a dozen to a dozen kids and organizers plan to expand the event next year.  4029 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • School districts and health professionals in Northwest Arkansas are seeking new methods to manage classroom disruptions caused by problematic student behavior—officials believe these efforts may help improve daily classroom management.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Greer Lingle Middle School in Rogers will welcome students back in newly renovated classrooms when classes resume Wednesday, Aug. 13—more than a year after the May 2024 tornado damaged the building. School officials said renovations are about 85% complete while the safe room remains unfinished.  4029 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Rogers resident Valere Gregory spent nearly a decade battling gastroparesis before she received the Enterra System device at Mercy Northwest Arkansas that sends electrical pulses to her stomach to reduce nausea and vomiting. Gregory said she felt a 90% reduction in her symptoms right away.  5 News
  • Arkansas Children's Northwest raised $1.84 million from the 17th annual Gala of Hope on August 1 and the 31st annual Will Golf 4 Kids tournament on July 31 at the Fayetteville Public Library — the funds will stay in Northwest to provide care close to home.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
