ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • During the 6 p.m. newscast on September 16, employees evacuated the 40/29 News building on Ajax Avenue after a fire began outside and spread to the second floor—firefighters quickly stopped the flames from reaching the third floor and no one was hurt.  4029 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Tyson Foods Inc., based in Springdale, said Monday it will stop using high-fructose corn syrup in its branded products by the end of the year—removing other additives like sucralose, BHA/BHT and titanium dioxide from brands such as Jimmy Dean and Hillshire Farm.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Walmart and Tyson Foods executives said consumers are seeking more variety and healthier protein choices, with Tyson planning to phase out high fructose corn syrup by year-end and Walmart expanding its fast delivery service—remarks made at a panel at the Rogers Convention Center.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • State Sen. Joshua Bryant from Rogers was chosen by Senate President Pro Tempore Bart Hester on Tuesday to chair the Senate City, County and Local Affairs Committee until January 2027.
