Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 19th of October.
Good morning, Rogers.
🏘️ Community
A group of Northwest Arkansas residents will walk more than 30 miles on a three-day pilgrimage from Bentonville to Fayetteville starting Thursday to raise funds and awareness for chronic homelessness — the journey will include planned stops to connect with local community leaders — as residents prepare to support the cause.
🎭 Culture
Monique Marvez delivered 'bacon-wrapped truth' at the Jones Center as the Center Stage Comedy series returns for its second season; the series will feature nationally recognized comedians and bring big laughs to Springdale following a successful debut last year.
🏈 Sports
On Friday night, the Rogers Heritage War Eagles ended years of struggle with a thrilling overtime win at David Gates Stadium while Fort Smith Northside lost despite Warren Bijou's historic play — his efforts shone even as his team fell short.
The win marked a turning point for the War Eagles and raised hopes for the rest of their season.
