BUSINESS NEWS

  • Three Arkansan companies and a school received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade last week—Push Plastic from Springdale, FX3D from Rogers and Lifeplus International from Batesville were honored—boosting Arkansas’ reputation in global exports.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Four Arkansas business leaders were named to the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame by UA Walton College of Business with a ceremony planned for February—Georgia-Pacific also finalized its purchase of Anchor Packaging, adding plants in Jonesboro, Marmaduke, Paragould and Janesville—while the Arkansas Index closed at 934.81, up 6.26 points amid soft trading. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rogers High School crowned its 2025 Homecoming Court on Oct 10 to honor seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen, naming a crown bearer, queen, king, and ball bearer. Kayla Stengel from the County Line FFA Chapter in Branch will also appear on stage with the National FFA Band.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Northwest Arkansas Land Trust announced it received a permanent conservation easement on 75 acres near Elkins to protect pasture, woodlands, and ponds in the Beaver Lake watershed. The land is owned by Tom and Judy Costello (including over 60 acres of mature woods and three ponds) and the easement was funded by Beaver Water District and the Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Division (using an EPA grant) to keep the area safe from development.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Arkansas defensive lineman Cam Ball was listed as out for the Auburn game Saturday while Danny Saili was listed as probable—coach Bobby Petrino said he expects Saili to help the Razorbacks.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
